Blais Racing Services rider, 20-year old Shayla Fulfer from Meridian Idaho, takes the win and locks in the Women's Pro Championship at Round 9 of the AMA/Kenda National Hare & Hound Championship Series, hosted by So Cal MC on Sunday October 9th. Fulfer had a great race on her Blais Racing Services/ KTM 250 XCF-W and took a commanding win, many minutes ahead of her nearest competitor. Fulfer also won the final round of the series, Round 10, hosted by 100's MC on October 23rd, and she celebrated on the podium with her team and some of her family who were in attendance. The women's class is growing and the girls have had a great season and some close battles this year. Congrats Shayla!

By Shayla Fulfer:

"This year has been great for me. It was my first year riding for the Blais Racing Services team and my first year doing the whole National Hare and Hound Series. The year started off a little rocky, but it ended great with me winning the National Hare and Hound Championship in the Women's Pro Class. I have met so many new people this year through racing and so many of those people have had a big impact on my life and racing this year." She continues, "My riding has improved substantially since the first race of the year and I would like to thank David Kamo and Kurt Caselli for helping me train and getting me to where I am right now. I know I still have a lot of work to do to become a better rider and I have been working hard for it. I learn something new every time I ride." She adds - "For 2012, I will be racing the new KTM 350 for the Blais Racing Services team and I will be doing the National Hare and Hound Series again to defend my #1 Plate. I would like to race more WORCS races next year and also try a Best in the Desert race and some Grand Prix races. My goals for 2012 are to win the National Hare and Hound Championship for the second time and I would like to qualify and get on the USA Women's Team for ISDE which will be in Germany. I would like to thank Blais Racing Services, my dad and mom, Kamo family, Kurt Caselli, Anthony from KTM, KTM, FMF, Fastway, TLD, Alpinestars, and IMS. I would also like to thank everyone who has supported and cheered me on this year in helping me win the National Hare and Hound Championship. Bring on 2012!"

Another Blais Racing Services rider, 19-year old Kevin DeJongh from Long Beach CA, has finished the season in the 5th spot for the 250A Class, earning #N5x for 2012 in the AMA/Kenda National Hare & Hound Championship Series.

By Kevin DeJongh:

"This series was a bit up and down for me but I am proud be able to say that I finished every round this year. Although some rounds were very difficult to finish due to some minor mechanical issues or unforgiving weather, I never gave up and kept pushing through to the finish. This was the first year that I competed in the entire National Hare and Hound Series and it was such a cool experience to race in new places, through new terrain, and even through the snow. I've also met a lot of awesome people, some of who have been my idols for a long time. I have had some good rides this year and some not so good rides but I will take this year as a learning experience and try and come back better for next year." He continues, "I have figured out what I need to work on to become a better racer and I hope that I can come into next year with everything 100% ready to go. I can't wait until next year to start racing again and I look forward to getting back to Idaho and Utah, which were my favorite races of the entire series. Next year I will be doing the National Hare and Hound Series again along with the AMA Western Checkpoint Enduro Championship Series and I am really excited to race in this new series and see how good I can do. There are a lot of people that have helped me this year and I wouldn't have been able to do it without them. I want to thank Chris and Patty Blais for everything they have done along with Blais Racing Services, my dad, Alex Grabow for the super fast pit stops, Anthony from KTM, Kelly Fulfer for always making sure I had enough to eat, and all my other sponsors that have helped me this year. I wouldn't be where I am today without you guys. Thanks everyone!"
